Eagles' Greatest Hits Now No. 1 Album Of All Time

NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess) The Eagles’ greatest hits album has finally surpassed Michael Jackson’s Thriller to become history’s best-selling album.

The Recording Industry Association of America told the Associated Press today that Their Greatest hits 1971-1975 is certified 38x platinum, selling 38 million copies through sales and streams of the album. Thriller is now in second place with 33x platinum sales.

The third best-selling album is Hotel California with 26x platinum sales.

“We are grateful for our families, our management, our crew, the people at radio and, most of all, the loyal fans who have stuck with us through the ups and downs of 46 years. It’s been quite a ride,” Don Henley said in a statement.

Fifteen-hundred streams of an album is considered the equivalent to an album sale. So is 10 song downloads.
