Gabrielle Union’s gorgeous ombre Micheal Kors gown fit her like a glove and made her look like a mermaid, complete with scales. Was it on theme? I can’t imagine how it was (and the MK Instagram has nothing substantive about it), unless it’s a homage to an earlier piece, but it’s pretty stunning nonetheless. It’s just an amazing gown. Dwyane Wade, or whoever dressed him, phoned it in however. This is just a lilac Versace suit with a white top! The Cartier jeweled piece along one side of the lapel is stunning though.
Rachel Zegler was also in Michael Kors, in a baby blue v-neck gown with a sparkly trailing wrap. She looks old Hollywood. This might be on theme as a reference to one of Marilyn Monroe’s gowns, judging from her Instagram stories. (I can’t find the dress online.)
Meg Ryan posed with Michael Kors and wore a mesh and sequin embellished black gown. This is lovely, if a bit boring.
Kelsea Ballerini looked awkward in this very fussy Michael Kors gown with nude sheer paneling and Mod Podge floral paste-ons. (My words obviously.) How do you take a gorgeous woman and make her look like this? She was very cute on the carpet with her boyfriend Chase Crawford though. I like them together!
Speaking of cute couples, here’s Allison Williams and Alexander Dreymon. She’s also in Michael Kors, in a graphic white and black print strapless gown with a deep neckline. This is simple but I really like it!
I’m including Eddie Redmayne and his wife, Hannah Bagshawe, because they were also in graphic black and white print looks. Their outfits are by Steve O. Smith. Eddie explained that the designer draws with charcoal and then recreates his art on his pieces. This is impressive and definitely stood out on the carpet.
