(CelebrityAccess) — The music rights company BMG is planning to cut ties with Pink Floyd co-founder Roger Waters over comments by the artist about Israel, the United States and Ukraine.

According to Variety who first reported the story, BMG is preparing to “separate entirely” from Waters after signing a publishing deal with him in 2016.

BMG was slated to release a new recording of Pink Floyd’s seminal 1973 album “Dark Side of the Moon” in 2022 but the album was canceled by BMG’s new CEO Thomas Coesfeld after he assumed his leadership role in July.

Waters previously discussed “being fired” by BMG during an interview with Glenn Greenwald in November during which Waters suggested that the split with BMG followed pressure from pro-Israeli interests on BMG’s parent, Bertelsmann, Variety reported.

A BMG spokesperson declined Variety’s requests for comment.
